Why boxing?
The noble art
against Parkinson's disease
We chose boxing training as a physical activity to improve the quality of life of Parkinson's patients. Science has recently shown that motor activity is essential for improving symptoms. But it is necessary that this activity is as intense as possible. Boxer training is certainly an intense activity that can, however, be adjusted according to the condition of each individual patient. Clinical studies confirm this benefit. One should carry out at least two sessions per week and for as long a period as possible.
Why boxing?
This is an example of a typical session
In most cases, the cause of Parkinson's is unknown. Researchers believe that Parkinson's is caused by a combination of factors
Warm up
You start with 10-minute activation, during which you perform walking, push-ups, arm exercises, stretching. In the actual training phase, 40 minutes, you can perform hits on the bag, the instructor's pads and other exercises.
Cognitive and visiomotor exercises
This type of exercise is very important and recently introduced.
An example of a cognitive and reactivity exercise is to hit lights that come on suddenly and in different positions. These exercises stimulate hand-eye reactivity.
Special exercises
These exercises which are performed with the use of special glasses (Strobe Glasses) that slightly disturb vision and force the brain to be more focused on balance and stability. We have recently started using Virtual Reality.
Warm down
